Hotel Lady Lusya - The History
Hotel Lady Lusya is a lovely charming Hotel in a historic Villa (dating back to the XV-XVIII century). This villa once belonged to a Baronial Sicilian family, in the early ‘800 became the residence of a Cardinal. The location is at the feet of Iblei Mountains, in a valley that reaches the see characterized by a dry climate.
For the healthiness of the place it was considered an ideal site for healing rheumatic diseases: qui si sana (here you heal) is written on the arch at the main entrance of the manor-house. The restoration of the villa was completed in June 2002 and the Hotel was inserted in an international circuit of middle-high class tourism (4 stars).
The entrepreneur’s idea comes from a dream that the present owner – Lucy, or Lusya, Giardina Truini- held in her heart since she was little: seeing the old villa – once owned by the grandfather – come to life again after many years of abandonment.
Lucy, born in Hartford – Connecticut (U.S.A.) with American mother and father from Siracusa, has completed the project of her dreams in the Summer 2002, after more than two years of delicate restoration. Lucy, her father Santo, her husband Piero and son Kris welcome their precious guests with a smile … that widens up when they receive the compliments for the architectonic rescue of the villa.
